Off the Grid, San Francisco’s pioneering outdoor food markets, returns to Treasure Island this fall, bringing its signature experience back to San Francisco’s best new waterfront neighborhood. Building on a successful fall debut that drew thousands to Cityside Park, the fall market runs six Saturdays from September 12-October 17th from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with free admission and complimentary ferry service from the San Francisco Ferry Building with advance RSVP. Party Bus to the Hay Maze

What better way to celebrate October than putting on costumes, loading up a party bus, and going to a nighttime Hay Maze on a pumpkin farm? Here’s a quick rundown of the details: We put on costumes & meet at Standard Deviant in SF. We ride a party bus to Half Moon Bay. The bus is full of beer and has a bathroom. We frolic in the hay maze for a couple hours. We get dropped back off at Standard Deviant.

Seoul Meets Soul: Two Cultures, One Kitchen

Kin-dza-dza!, Georgiy Daneliya's 1986 cult masterpiece, follows two ordinary Soviet men — a gruff construction foreman and a young student — who get accidentally teleported to the desert planet Pluke, where society operates on an ever-more-absurd hierarchy of rules and everyone travels in flying rust buckets. It's surreal, it's funny, it's bleak, it's quietly one of the sharpest satires of class and bureaucracy ever smuggled past a censor board — and it looks like nothing else in cinema, before or since.
