I’m not sure if you’ve been paying attention, but the Fox Theater in Oakland has an incredible fall season planned! So far this year they’ve had such stellar shows as Widespread Panic, Passion Pit, and The Last Dinner Party, just to name a few. But they still have a shit ton more fantastic concerts on the horizon.

Kruder & Dorfmeister
The Viennese duo basically invented the downtempo/trip-hop sound your favorite coffee shop still can't shut up about, and they're marking 30 years of it with the K&D Kicks anniversary tour. If you've ever needed proof that "chill" music can still fill a room with genuine reverence, this is it.
September 25th – Kruder & Dorfmeister
Ilana Glazer Live!
Broad City's Ilana is doing standup now, and if her HUMAN MAGIC special is any indication, you're getting sharp, political, unfiltered comedy from someone who's spent a decade making being a mess look like a lifestyle brand. This one's 15-and-over, so bring your teenagers.

ScHoolboy Q
TDE's resident chaos agent is back on the road, bringing the gritty, off-kilter West Coast rap that made "Collard Greens" and "Man of the Year" inescapable. Expect a sweaty, high-energy room and zero chill.

Gary Clark Jr.
The Austin guitar god has been quietly one of the best live acts in America for over a decade, blending blues, soul and rock into something that sounds like it crawled out of a swamp and put on a suit. Grammy winner, generational riffs, no notes.

Shpongle
Simon Posford's psychedelic electronic project calls its shows the "Psychedelic Olympics," and honestly that undersells it. Expect full sensory-overload production, deep improvisation, and a crowd that showed up ready to leave their body for a couple hours. Two Halloween nights, because apparently one wasn't enough last time.
October 30th & 31st – Shpongle
Bonobo
Simon Green's been one of electronic music's most consistently interesting voices for 20-plus years, and he's touring behind Distance In Static with a brand-new live show designed by the guy who's done visuals for Air and Phoenix. This is the kind of show where the production is as much the headliner as the music.
November 14th – Bonobo
Thundercat
The bass virtuoso who's played with Kendrick, Flying Lotus, and basically everyone else worth mentioning brings his own genre-blurring jazz-funk-anime-soundtrack universe to the Fox, with fera opening. If you like your funk technically absurd and emotionally sincere, this is your night.
November 17th – Thundercat w/ fera
Pretty Lights
Derek Vincent Smith is doing a three-night residency at the Fox, which tells you everything about how devoted his fanbase is. Expect glitch-hop, soul samples, marathon-length sets, and a light show that's basically become the whole point of the name. 18+.
