The Trumer Taproom Story

In 2004, a group of enterprising American craft brewers discovered the Trumer Brauerei in Salzburg, Austria. Instead of shipping Trumer Pils from Austria to the United States, those brewers built a sister brewery in Berkeley, California.

This is how Americans can get 400 years of Austrian Brewing tradition, brewed fresh daily in Berkeley. The Trumer Berkeley team upholds the original Trumer Pils recipe by using the same hops, malt, and proprietary yeast as its sister brewery in Salzburg.

German-trained Trumer Brewmaster, Lars Larson opens a traditional beer barrel. After obsessing over the same beer for more than a decade, you could say he’s got this pilsner brewing thing down to a science.
