No matter what level of experience or dance interest, from contemporary styles to classical ballet, the city offers a diverse range of dance classes for all skill levels. Whether seeking a fun way to stay fit, a new hobby, to hone existing technique, or a deeper artistic pursuit, adults will find welcoming spaces that foster community and personal growth in some of the best dance studios and programs San Francisco has to offer.

ODC Dance Commons
ODC is a professional dance company that offers a wide range of classes for all ages. Founded in 1971 by Artistic Director Brenda Way, who studied under renowned choreographer George Balanchine, ODC began as Oberlin Dance Collective in Ohio, where Brenda was on faculty at Oberlin College. ODC moved to San Francisco in 1976 and over the years has expanded to the distinctive company, school, and theater it is today. ODC welcomes all dancers, from beginners to advanced, plus seniors and those seeking low impact moves — tailored for people recovering from injuries or seeking a gentler pace.
Adult classes include just about every dance imaginable, from Ballet, and Belly Dance, to Hip Hop, Latin, Social, Tap and everything in between. Classes are offered in person, online, and as workshops at every level. Of particular interest is ODC’s Global Dance Passport series: student performance workshops that culminate in a Community Showcase. View more information about classes, schedules, and fees here.
