Last Beat Church of 2011 Tonight

The Bay's best newsletter for underground events & news

For a lot of Americans, the holiday season is the only time people actually go to church. And for the other lot of us, there is another kind of church that is a bit more hedonistic than Midnight Mass. Come lose your religion tonight, Thursday, December 15th, for the last Beat Church of 2011 at Icon Lounge. This donation only party has been bumpin’ the underground music scene every first and third Thursday of the month, for nearly 10 whole years! Come see what the fuss is all about and pray (er…um, dance) to the Gods that make fat beats a part of this world.

The residents and DJ selectors have set up a lineup for tonight that is pretty sick. DJ Laura (LowRIDERz) will be there mixing hard-hitting drops mixed with bottomless low rolls in her dubstep style. L.A. DJ, ChrisB. (Headtron), never ceases to inspire each person in the audience with his high energy live performances. DOV (Muti Music) produces everything from Dubstep to various downtempo, midtempo and uptempo Breaks. He has worked a lot with An-ten-nae and ill.Gates. jOBOT (Headtron) crunchy, slimy, nasty, and cerebrally enticing electronic dance music. NICO LUMINOUS mixes melodic progressions, futuristic sound design and organic elements into dirty bass drops. A couple of surprise guests are also going to stop by. All in all,  it is going to be an evening of farty bass and dark beats.

The Beat Gods seem to have been listening to your prayers. There will be drink specials throughout the night. There will be extra speakers for your listening pleasure. There will be extra fans and air conditioning to make your dancing experience less sweaty. There will even be FREE iced mint yerba mate to cool you down and pick you right back up. See you on the dance floor. Can I get a, “Hallelujah?!”
