Come Drink Pickle Backs with Me on Wednesdays at Dear Mom!!

The Bay's best newsletter for underground events & news

Recently I started bartending at Dear Mom on Wednesday nights.  I do this because a) it’s fun b) I really need the money (yes I’m still broke) and c) because Jay and Oliver are the shit!  The fellas have given me some leeway to do cool stuff on my night, so I’m bringing an East Coast favorite to The Mission.  San Francisco, I’d like to introduce you to the Pickle Back.

What’s the  Pickle Back?  I’m glad you asked!  I got turned on to it when I lived in Brooklyn and frequented the Bushwick Country Club.  It was their specialty.  The Pickle Back is a shot of whiskey with a shot of pickle juice as a chaser.  I know at first it sounds gross, but really, it’s amazing!  The pickle brine cuts right through the whiskey making even the most rotgut stuff totally tolerable.  But I’m not feeding you that rotgut shit; we’re doing Dickle with the Pickle Back.  And it’s even fancy pickle juice.  I’m getting the stuff  from the fine gentlemen of Wise Sons, who are already famous for the food truck and will be even more so when their new deli opens up on 24th St.

And you wanna know the best par to f all of this?  We’re doing the Dickle with the Pickle Backs for only $4!!  So will I be seeing your shining face every Wednesday night from now on?  I thought so.
