Cool, Cutty, Art Parties in SF this Weekend

There are dozens of studios, galleries, and art collectives all open and humming within walking distance of each other this weekend.  Checkout the map here.  There also happen to be a lot of art parties this Friday…all happening at once.  It’s what you call one of those ‘good problems’.  Check em out:

MISSION OPEN STUDIOS ART PARTY
FRI. 11/10 | 6PM – 9PM @ PACIFIC FELT FACTORY ART COMPLEX
Join artists, orgs, and galleries at a dope art collective called the Pacific Felt Factory for a party to celebrate Open Studios in the Mission, Castro, Noe, & Upper market!  Enter at 20th Street Gate, to see some great art, and chill  with fine artists.
ADMISSION: FREE

OPERA ON THE SPOT
FRI. 11/10 | 7:30PM @ RED POPPY ART HOUSE
Double bill of Lee Hoiby’s The Italian Lesson followed by Giovanni Battista Pergolesi’s La Serva Padrona (The Servant turned Mistress). Enjoy this rare production of two hilarious one-act Italian operas that reveal a lighter (if not more eccentric side) of this beautiful art form.

1890 BRYANT OPEN STUDIOS ART PARTY
FRI. 11/10 | 6PM – 9PM @ 1890 BRYANT ART STUDIOS
Visit over 100 artists on three floors at 1890 Bryant Street Studios. With art in all media and price ranges, this is a great opportunity for both the experienced and novice collector to purchase art directly from the artist.

THE FARM IN THE MISSION IS OPEN

Punk rock poster show, art, food & wine, music, and more!  All in a concrete art jungle under the freeway on the edge of the mission.  Ya, fuck ya.

SF TRANSGENDER FILM FESTIVAL 2017
FRI- SUN | 11/10-12 @ ROXY THEATER
Time flies when your having a good time and doing good work. This weekend the San Francisco Transgender Film Festival returns to the historic Roxie Cinema in celebration of films made by or about transgender and/or gender non-conforming people.

LAST FRIDAY NIGHT AT THE DE YOUNG
FRI. 11/10 | 5PM – 830PM @ DE YOUNG MUSEUM
Adulting at the de Young!  The official close of the 13th season of Friday Nights at the de Young is here.  A rare evening of sound installations and performances in various locations throughout the building, and don’t forget the amazing Teotihuacan: City of Water, City of Fire exhibit is on display

NEW SFAI CAMPUS PARTY 
FRI | @ 7–10 PM @ FORT MASON

A free inaugural party celebrating the public opening of SFAI’s new Fort Mason campus with exhibitions, open studios, a student art sale, and more.  The Friday night public party will feature music, one-night-only art installations, and live performances on a 67,000-square foot renovated pier.  Fort Mason has really developed into quite it’s own art scene.

RENEGADE CRAFT FAIR

CATVIDEOFEST 2017

SUN | 11/12  2PM @ YERBA BUENA YBCA THEATER
Watch the best internet cat videos on YBCA’s big screen!  CatVideoFest 2017 will feature 80 minutes of footage of your favorite internet felines and will be presented in the YBCA Theater.
