The Hook-up Truck, SF’s Mobile ‘Sexual Adventuring’ Room is Back

The Bay's best newsletter for underground events & news

That’s right, the Bay’s very own national news making “Hook-Up Truck” is back after a long hiatus.  We stumbled across it and its creator Spy Emerson the other night on Valencia St. outside Wonderland SF.  Spy told us she had taken some time off to travel but that now “the mobile meeting room advocating safe sexual adventuring and exercising sexual freedom as a human right aka The Hook-up Truck” is back on the streets, and ready for the holidays.

There’s something very Burning Man-esque about the Hook-up Truck and it’s purveyor Spy, the concept is simultaneously ridiculous and radically practical, both hedonist and progressive, it embodies a sense of humor, an artistic flair, and like many things in the desert it all takes place on a stranger’s flat bed truck.  “The Hook-up Truck is a mobile “meeting room” available for short term rentals accommodating intimate relations.”

This coming First Friday in Oakland (Dec 1 2017) the Hook-Up Truck is going to be outside Feelmore Adult Gallery doing live street theater, a trunk sale, “Sexual Compatibility” Tarot card readings, games of Spin-the-Bottle and official Church of the SubGenius “short-duration marriages” performed by Dr. Hal Robins.  And of course the Hook-up Truck itself will be available for rental along with my personal favorite new item going on sale: “Scent of the Hook-Up Truck” room freshener, which I imagine smells like biker pussy and playa dust?   There was also a rumor that the hookup truck is going to start running a day care service for patrons…which of course is our my next favorite service item.

Now YOU can visit the notorious Hook-Up Truck, during Oakland’s First Friday (which are hella fun street festivals with live music food etc.) The truck will be outside Feelmore Gallery, Telegraph at 17th St., December 1st, from 5 to 8pm.
