SF Artist & Lyricist Collaborate on New ‘Part of Me’ Music Vid

The Bay's best newsletter for underground events & news

The new ‘Part of Me’ music video from San Francisco lyricist Hazel Rose has just hit the interwebs and it’s pretty rad. There are all kinds of nods to San Francisco in there—from eyeballs creeping on the Muni bus, joyriding across the Bay Bridge to the Robin Williams Tunnel.

The video is a mix of digital animation and stop-motion techniques using paper and wireframe characters by local artist Shayna Yasuhara. Other recent projects by this artist have included the “Get it Right Now” official music video for the Tambo Rays (OIM Records) which received its big screen debut at the New Parkway’s Out of Focus Music Video Festival.

‘Part of Me’ is from Hazel Rose’s latest album, 5th Element, includes fourteen tracks with production from J. Cole, !llmind, Marty MxFly, Mic Angelo, Mr. Carmack, Mikos Da Gawd, and more.

We write for busboys, poets, social workers, students, artists, musicians, magicians, mathematicians, maniacs, yodelers and everyone else out there who wants to enjoy life not as a rich person, but as a real person. Namely, we write for you.

We’re currently looking to expand our author pool. If you’re snarky, know what’s happening in your town, and good at making your fingers type out funny words, then you might be just the person we’re looking for. Email alex@brokeassstuart.com with some writing samples if you're interested. Cheers
