Broke Ass Stuart’s Weekly NYC Comedy Breakdown!

The Bay's best newsletter for underground events & news

New York City is known for many things. To some, it’s the dirty-water hot dogs from a street cart or pizza on every corner. To some, it’s the flashing Broadway lights of the iconic Times Square. What can’t be denied by anyone is the fact that New York City is one of the biggest entertainment capitols of the world. And we’re making Broke-Ass Stuart your go-to for weekly stand-up comedy listings in the Big Apple. Each week, we’ll highlight the best of the best in the stand-up comedy world from the best producers in the business. We’ll highlight clubs, basements, bars & maybe even a secret location or two.

And with that being said: Here’s your weekly breakdown!

Tickling The Ivories at Pianos (158 Ludlow)
Host: Varies
Every Monday night at 8pm, NYC’s legendary Lower East Side neighborhood of Manhattan comes alive with “Tickling The Ivories” at Pianos. This is one of those cool venues that you only see in big cities full of history, as Pianos used to be a Piano store that was then converted into a performance space that has thrived ever since. This week features Chanel Ali from “Night Train with Wyatt Cenac”.

Every Tuesday at 8pm, one of the best shows around happens in…New Jersey? So usually, I only showcase shows in NYC here but this Tuesday night show is just a hop, skip and a PATH train away from the city. It’s actually closer to Manhattan than many places in Brooklyn. Point is that Barry Ribs has been around for awhile and he’s seen some shit so he knows how to book a show.
