You Can Score $10 Tickets to See “Hamilton” in SF! Yes, We’re Serious.

The Bay's best newsletter for underground events & news

For those of you dying to see the award-winning “Hamilton” live and in person, we have great news! The groundbreaking hip-hop take on Alexander Hamilton’s life and his role in the American Revolutionary War is headed back to San Francisco to grace the Orpheum stage and this time around, the broke among us will have a shot at picking up tickets for $10.

You heard that right, there’s a chance you can see one of the most amazing musicals of our generation for the price of one good cocktail.

The show is scheduled to run at the San Francisco Orpheum Theater from Feb. 12 through Sept. 8 and for each performance, 44 tickets will be made available by lottery for just $10. To get in on this insane deal you can download the official Hamilton app, available through Apple App and Google Play stores, or register directly online. The lottery will open at 11 a.m. two days prior to every show – lucky winners will be notified by via email and text message at 11 a.m. the following day and will have until 4 p.m. to purchase up to two tickets at the slashed price. All you have to do after that is bust out your favorite outfit, pick up your tickets at will call and enjoy the show.

Full price tickets are available now through the Orpheum website and will cost somewhere between $210 and over $1000 depending on the selected date and show time. The cost may seem hefty, but consider that the New York Times credits the Pulitzer Prize-winning performance as “changing history and theater” and that is not something you want to miss out on.

The New York Times described the returning performance as “proof that the American musical is not only surviving but also evolving in ways that should allow it to thrive and transmogrify in years to come.” If you can score a seat to Lin-Manuel Miranda’s game changing musical for just $10, you’d be crazy not to try.

Good luck to you all and let the lottery begin!
