If you’re still recovering from the craziness of Outside Lands, check out a more mellow local show, a community poetry reading, or art exhibition!  There are tons of these events for the Bay Area’s creative community at the end of August, so don’t miss out.  And if you still can’t get enough of those music festival vibes, Noise Pop’s 20th St Block Party is back for another year.

Noise Pop’s annual 20th St Block Party is back– it’s a part street food festival, part music festival and part local vendor bazaar. This year’s 20th St Block Party will benefit 826 Valencia and La Cocina!  This is a smoke-free event. No outside food or drinks allowed.

The African American Museum & Library at Oakland (AAMLO) announces a public conversation on Saturday, August 17 ahead of the thirtieth anniversary of the death of the slain political icon, Dr. Huey P. SUMMER FRIENDSHIP QUEST 2019

SFZF ZINE PICNIC
Come hang out and meet other zine- and comics-makers at our fifth annual zine picnic!  Bring snacks, some zines to trade or to work on, and be ready to browse the SFZF zine library.  This is a great time to get to know other makers, meet the organizing team, and maybe even find out how you can volunteer to help make SF Zine Fest 2019 the best one yet.  To get to the picnic area: take the elevator to the 6th floor and look for signs leading you to the zine picnic on the outdoor terrace.
