A message from The Center in the Lower Haight, SF

Via – The Center SF Family:

Dearest Community Members,

I hope this message finds you well and safe in this very strange time. First of all, from the bottom of our hearts — Thank you for being part of our community. We recognize that this pandemic has been a challenging time for many. Whether you are new to our community, or are a long time member of The Center SF, each of you are integral to what makes The Center SF such a unique community space in the heart of San Francisco.

If you have been positively impacted by The Center SF, please consider donating to its GoFundMe campaign to keep this unique space surviving. Donations of any size count and will go to support The Center SF during this trying time.

Since 2016, The Center SF has been a community hub dedicated to personal, spiritual, and social transformation through movement, tea, healing arts, service, and community building. Over the past four years, The Center SF has been a refuge for people to gather, to connect, to heal, and to grow.

On March 15, we closed our doors to prevent the spread of Coronavirus. Since then, we have moved our workshops and yoga classes online and offered the majority of them as donation-based in order to continue to be a source of support, healing and connection during these challenging times.

With the Shelter in Place lasting through at least May 1st, The Center SF is now facing serious financial challenges to survive. Our team is doing everything we can to seek support from local, state, and federal governments, however that process is still very unclear. Meanwhile, we are facing a severe shortage of funds to cover our rent, pay dedicated staff, and continue operations.

To make it through this challenging time, we are asking our community for support. If you have been positively impacted by The Center SF, please consider donating to our GoFundMe campaign. The goal of the campaign is to raise $20,000 to cover the essential costs of keeping The Center SF running through May 1. This includes rent, staff salaries, and business expenses. Donations of any size count and will go to support The Center SF during this trying time.

These are unprecedented times, and the fear of an uncertain future is very much alive for all of us. But alongside that fear is a deep sense of trust and faith in the resilience of our community to come together and ensure that The Center SF continues to exist. Now more than ever, our vision to awaken human potential toward the realization of a more compassionate, inclusive, connected, and sustainable world is needed.

Thank you for being a part of our community. Together, as a community, we will overcome this challenge and continue to be a space for healing, connection, and transformation.

With gratitude,

The Center SF Family

P.S. Help us spread the word about our fundraiser! Take a moment to share our GoFundMe page on your social media, along with a story about why The Center SF is important to you.
