“Rise Up With Asians” March & Rally in SF

Updated: Mar 25, 2021 10:06
The Bay's best newsletter for underground events & news

I cribbed this from SF Funcheap but it’s important to get this information out there:

Join us for a peaceful, safe, and social-distanced rally to show solidarity for the Asian/Asian-American community in light of the recent Asian hate crimes and issues.

This event is a student led rally to raise awareness about the violence happening within the Asian community. In this rally we will be highlighting Angelo Quinto, a 30-yr-old Filipino man who was suffering under a mental health crisis and when his family called the police for help, he was met with violence which lead to his death a few days later. In addition, we would like to highlight the attacks happening within our Asian elders in Chinatown. Overall, we want to bring everyone together, and have the voices of our Asian community be heard and seen.

This is a youth-led peaceful protest/rally! And our main purpose is to bring attention to the violence that has been happening against our Asian community. We urge you to stand by us and stand for us; to uplift our community and amplify our voices. We ask you to come together with us to advocate for justice and healing. Join us for a peaceful, safe, and social-distanced rally to show solidarity for the Asian/Asian-American community in light of the recent Asian hate crimes and issues.
