Outside Lands has a Beer, Wine and Cheese Lands this Year!

The Bay's best newsletter for underground events & news

Outside Lands is back after a long hiatus, 2020 was the first year Outside Lands was cancelled since the festival began in 2008.  Now the music is back this Halloween weekend and punters are excited about seeing Lizzo, The Strokes, Tyler the Creator, Tame Impala, and much much more (see the full lineup here.)  Personally, the tipsy piggy inside me is excited about the eats and drinks.

Outside Lands usually does a good job with hiring local food and beverage vendors to serve its masses, (this year everyone has to be fully vaccinated or with proof of negative test) and if OL is the same size as in 2019, that means around 200k concert-goers over the 3 day festival.

If you’ve attended in the past you’re familiar with Wine Lands, where this year you can try up to 100 wines sourced from California wineries, but that’s old news to us beer drinkers, I’m excited about BEERLANDS with 30 brewers from all over NorCal, and organized by Magnolia Brewing founder Dave McLean.

I’m looking forward to trying what Drakes is brewing this year (Drakes Classic Cars West is also in the Oakland Beer Passport this year so check that out ; ).  I’m also excited to see what ales Seismic will bring (their Shater Cone IPA is delicious) not to mention Altamont‘s incredible Maui Waui Double IPA.

There is a strong showing of West Coast brewing prowess:

Farmers

21st Amendment
Ace Cider

Bear Republic
Calicraft

If you are more of a wine and cheese buff, make sure to checkout the Wine Lands Here.  SF’s own Mission Bay Wine and Cheese will be holding down their own ‘Cheese Land’ in near all the wine vendors : )

And peep the 85 Bay Area restaurants and food vendors, there’s everything from food trucks to fine ass dining coming this year, full list here!
