Join the SF Department of Environment SF Recreation and Parks Department for a children and family STEM service day! This free event brings together Bay Area youth and connects them to nature. This event is for youth ages 12+ accompanied by adults or family members.

Kandi Sesh Wednesdays

5:00 pm – 9:00 pm | Garage Cafe, 320 11th Street | Free

Get a little rave on this Wednesday evening! This weekly sesh is a great way to make new friends, chill, and spread some good vibes with your fellow ravers. Show off your massive collection of kandi jewelry, make a few new pieces to share, hang out with some new pals, and enjoy some bumpin beats.

CCSF ESL Department Rally 

12:30pm – 1:30 pm | CCSF Mission Campus, 1125 Valencia Street | Free

CCSF English as a Second Language students and faculty are holding an action at the Mission campus to let students, faculty, and CCSF allies share outrage caused by layoffs in the department. The ESL department is among those with the largest cuts, with a projected 7 full-time and 48 part-time faculty facing loss of work. This will close at least 40 full classes and deny educational opportunities to at least 1,600 students in the ESL department alone. Join them today at CCSF’s Mission Campus and make your voice heard!

Kandur Family Benefit Show

Ilkercan Kandur and his band Kandur played the stage at Bottom of the Hill many times before Ilker moved to Ukraine – now he, his wife, and their 4-month-old baby have been forced to flee their home and abandon their already-struggling business. They’re safe in Poland right now, but they need our help – come check out four amazing bands (First Church of the Sacred Silversexual, Agouti, Alvie and the Breakfast Pigs, and Varona) and share some financial love with a family who could really use it!

Noodlefest

2:00 pm – 4:00 pm | 606 Broadway |GA sold out; $35 limited tickets available day-of!

Back after 10 years, Noodlefest 2022 is a celebration of North Beach and Chinatown’s culinary heritage,  showcasing 30 different vendors from these distinct and culturally rich neighborhoods. Come together in unity to share good food and support local and legacy businesses in both neighborhoods, as a panel of celebrity guest judges (Chef Martin Yan, Restaurant Critic Soleil Ho, and our very own Broke-Ass Stuart Shuffman!) stare down the hottest noodz you’ve ever seen. Seas the Day Party

8:00 pm | 7th West, 1255 7th Street, Oakland | $30

Help bring Airpusher Collective and Flaming Lotus Girls back to the Playa at this nautical-steampunk fundraiser! Alongside the Airship, FLG will feature their flaming sculptures Angel of the Apocalypse and Merope. FLG has a storied history of bringing the most beautiful and badass fire art to the playa since 2000, and their core mission is to empower women in the traditionally male-dominated industrial and flame arts space. Support that mission and party your face off – it’s a win-win!

Saturation Pop-Up Art Exhibit

5:00 pm – 8:00 pm | Blackbird, 2124 Market Street | Free

Deena Smith has produced a titillating show using deep hues and a vibrant color palette to embolden her abstract works. Come meet the artist, enjoy a beverage, and of course enjoy a fantastic show – and maybe a drink or two as well at this art-focused cocktail bar.

Erie Bazaar Community Flea Market

1:00 pm – 6:00 pm | Public Works, 161 Erie Street | Free

Erie Bazaar is a free monthly public pop-up marketplace event that showcases Bay Area creators, creatives, artists, and musicians. Spotlighting those creators who help make this city so special, this event will features 22 local vendors outside on the patio and inside the main room – not to mention drinks and dancing!

Pom Pom Squad

8:00 pm | Cafe Du Nord, 2170 Market Street | $15-18 

Mia Berrin first played under the moniker Pom Pom Squad in 2015 after moving to New York to study acting at NYU—though she soon transferred to the Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music—and it was at those early gigs that she linked up with Shelby Keller (drums), Mari Alé Figeman (bass), and Alex Mercuri (guitar). The group cut their teeth playing packed Brooklyn apartments, but they quickly graduated to packed Brooklyn venues alongside artists like Soccer Mommy, Adult Mom, and Pronoun. Welcome to Night Vale presents: The Haunting of Night Vale

Welcome to Night Vale, friends… If you aren’t already familiar with the twice-monthly podcast about the perfectly-normal-and-totally-not-weird small town and its radio station, this exclusive live performance (which will never be broadcast on the podcast) is the perfect way to get acquainted with it! Radio host Cecil and his boyfriend Carlos are building a new house for themselves, but strange occurrences and ghostly encounters are plaguing the construction process. It’s probably nothing. After all, how could a house be haunted before it’s even done being built?

Lizzie Locker has been an artist, entertainer, and “glamour girl” since birth. Since 2017, Lizzie has been writing professionally for small businesses, as well as creatively. She has published essays in VIE Magazine, and has written website and social media content for pole dance studios, afterschool programs, and reference sites. At the same time, Lizzie has also continued to develop her performance career at queer nightlife events across the Bay Area. She can be found both onstage and off, reading her stories aloud in bars, emceeing drag and burlesque shows, and producing arts events that defy genre and expectation.
