The Only KC Chiefs Bar in San Francisco

If you are from Kansas City, or you just love seeing the Kelces in Taylor Swift’s box on Sundays, then there is one bar in San Francisco where you can go cheer on the Chiefs exclusively with other KC fans, while they lose to the 49ers in Super Bowl LVIII on February 11th.

BuzzWorks in SoMa is a good sports bar with lots of craft beers on tap and two stories of seating with lots of screens and vantage points to watch the game.   And on Super Bowl Sunday, only KC Chiefs fans will be admitted.  No 49er fans are welcome at BuzzWorks on Super Bowl Sunday.  But across the street at Butter, there is a 49er fan-only watch party for the Super Bowl.

Here is a bit of the bar’s history from Vlad, the owner of BuzzWorks, and how the bar came to be the only Kansas City bar in SF:

Upon opening in July of 2016, Cricket Miller, who was a Chief’s cheerleader before moving to SF, wisely decided to call dibs on Buzzworks as the place where she would invite all her KC friends to watch Chief’s games every Sunday. With no other Chiefs bar in the region, coupled with the many historical correlations between the Chiefs and the Niners, the decision to support each other was a no-brainer.

Chief’s atmosphere at BuzzWorks:

So, from the start of the 2016 season till now, Buzzworks has been the proud home for the Chiefs Kingdom, despite being right in the heart of Niners-dominated territory. This relationship has been growing organically and strengthening in tandem with the success of the Chiefs NFL dominance, season after season, as BuzzWorks become well established for being the home of the Brave Kingdom’s west coast Fanclub. Not only does it have its own merch, including customized Chiefs hats with a Golden Gate Bridge stitched into the logo of the Arrowhead, but is one of a few places in the area you can get every available offering of Boulevard Brewing Company on draft!

And the dominance of the Chiefs since 2016 has been impressive! Winning their division last 8 seasons in a row. Conference Champions 4 out of last 5 years. And now onto their 5th Superbowl appearance in the past 5 years. Not only have the Chiefs won 2 out of their 3 Super Bowls in the past 4 seasons – but they beat the Niners in 2020, which was the last time the Niners were in the Superbowl… setting the stage for the rematch everyone has been wanting to see.

Oddly enough, and despite all the Chief’s success, no other bar in the region has made a serious effort to be more supportive of the Chiefs, despite the team’s continual dominance over the past 8 seasons. And it’s not like there are any Niners bars in KC either, yet every bar in the area is fundamentally and predominantly a Niners Bar already. And while BuzzWorks is open to all fans of all sports, we more so show support to those that support us in return. That’s why for this Superbowl, Buzzworks is going to be open exclusively for the Brave Kingdom fans of the KC Chiefs ONLY! And there is absolutely no other bar in the Bay Area that will do such a thing… making Buzzworks the one and only place for the true KC fans to enjoy the day! No cover charge, and no reservations. Doors will open at 11am, and all seating will be on a first-come basis.

In addition… BuzzWorks saved one full keg of untapped Anchor Steam Beer and 2 Full Kegs of Anchor West Coast IPA for the big game day! These are absolutely the last remaining Anchor Draft Products in the known universe. For our 49er faithful family, BuzzWorks has planned with Butter (directly across the street) to host a Niners Only viewing party also free of charge.
