Disco For Democracy: A Party to Make Nevada Go Blue
Thursday, September 12th, 6pm–11pm, be a part of history while dancing to disco! Manny’s Café is proud to announce their upcoming event Disco For Democracy, hosted at SVN West near Market and Van Ness in San Francisco.
The dance party, featuring 360° DJ performances by Austin Millz, David Harness and more, is raising funds to help canvassers win Nevada votes for presidential candidate Kamala Harris. In the final month of the election, Manny’s will organize phone banks, mail thousands of letters, and bus canvassers to Reno, Nevada in their efforts to secure the key state for Vice President Harris.
Our neighboring state has, within recent weeks, approached a threshold that would threaten the chances of turning Nevada blue for Harris. The plan is to bus at least one hundred San Franciscans every weekend to Reno to knock on doors. San Franciscans can make a difference, but we’ll have to work to hard. Disco For Democracy offers donation tiers like the $1,000-Disco Ball tier, the $10k Sylvester tier, all the way up to the Studio 54 tier at $100,000. General admission starts at $25.
100% of the funds raised from this iconic Disco For Democracy event will go straight to this election effort, funding stamps for letters to Nevada voters as well as bus trips, motel stays and meals for folks travelling to Reno. Meanwhile, the phone banks at Manny’s will increase operations from weekly to daily. Drop in, bust a move, and support a good cause. We’ll be tearing up the dancefloor and roller skating on the roof for Democracy.
