Trump Administration May Start Deporting Americans Too

When America sends their people to El Salvador, they’re not sending their best. Well, that is if Trump and Marco Rubio have any say.
Senator Marco Rubio recently visited El Salvador to push for tougher immigration enforcement, aligning with former President Donald Trump’s crackdown on illegal immigration. During his visit, El Salvador’s President Nayib Bukele offered to house U.S. prisoners in Salvadoran facilities for a fee, stating that the arrangement would be affordable for the U.S. while helping sustain El Salvador’s prison system. He clarified that only convicted criminals would be accepted.
Elon Musk called it a “great idea.” on X. However, a U.S. official stated that there were no current plans to deport American citizens, as such a move would face legal obstacles. The U.S. cannot legally deport its own citizens, but dumber shit has happened, so who knows?
The State Department has criticized El Salvador’s prison conditions, describing them as harsh and overcrowded. It noted issues such as poor sanitation, lack of clean water, and extreme temperatures. Since March 2022, El Salvador has been under a state of emergency due to gang violence. Bukele’s administration responded with mass arrests, detaining over 83,000 people with little due process. In 2023, Bukele opened a massive prison capable of holding 40,000 gang members. The facility provides just one meal per day, bans visits, and lacks rehabilitation programs.
Manuel Flores, a leader of El Salvador’s opposition party, criticized the plan, arguing that Washington is treating Central America like a dumping ground for criminals. (This is a Spanish new source- you have to translate to English on Chrome if you don’t speak Spanish)
Marco Rubio didn’t only visit El Salvador, he also stopped over in Panama where apparently we’re threatening to invade them over doing business with China.
Meanwhile, back in Washington, Elon Musk has hijacked USAID. Employees were told to stay out of the agency’s headquarters after Musk announced that Trump had agreed to shut it down. Thousands of employees were already laid off, and programs had been terminated. Rubio confirmed that he was now USAID’s acting administrator but had delegated authority to others. USAID, once an independent agency, will now operate under the State Department, though legal challenges to this change are expected.
I know I talked shit about Kamala Harris, but honestly, I wouldn’t mind having four years of her fake laugh right now. Things look like they’re about to get very bad.
