Someone is Throwing a Rave at Bob’s Donuts

The Bay's best newsletter for underground events & news

Last night I got the most intriguing message. An instagram account called FREQ Music Productions hit me up and invited me to a “pop-up rave” at San Francisco institution Bob’s Donuts. Now I’ve been to some wild parties in some strange places, but a rave at a donut shop is not one them.

That’s likely to change on Friday though when I attend the Donut Shop Beat Drop at Bob’s. According to the invite:

San Francisco’s most iconic donut shop is getting sprinkled with something extra sweet… Join us at Bob’s Donuts (1720 Polk St New Location) for a pop-up rave where sugary vibes meet electric disco grooves. One evening only. Just donuts, SF history-making, and dance floor heat.

We’re serving up hot tracks from some of the city’s top producers and DJs from 5pm until 10pm, with a surprise appearance by a legendary disco house producer dropping in for a secret set that’s sure to melt more than just the glaze. 🍥💿

**NOTE** Surprise guest is playing first up at 5pm. Don’t be late, you wont want to miss this one 🙂

Powder up. Dress loud. Invite all your dopest friends. And remember — what happens behind the counter stays on the dance floor. 💃🕺

Sounds dope right?

This all comes on the heels of Bob’s Donuts having to move to a new location earlier this year, after having been in their original spot since the 1960s.

I’m a big fan of Bob’s because…duh, and we’ve been writing about that sweet, late night heaven since way back in 2009 when Stephen Torres scribbled an ode to it.

Check out the reel that FREQ Music Productions made about this momentous event:
