Carl's Steaks
Some heretics, who are apparently not afraid of death at the hands of vicious and rampaging mobs of Philadelphians, claim that the steaks served here are better than those in the Philly. Other people, with a greater desire to live out the rest of their days without losing their Philly visiting privileges, just claim that it’s the best in New York. Personally I believe the best one in this fine city, is made by a man named Ali who works the graveyard shift at the Big Apple bodega in the eastern part of Williamsburg. I’d also like to visit my dear friends in Philly again without receiving hateful and vengeful bodily harm, so I’m not going to venture far enough to say Ali’s are better than anything in the '˜City of Brotherly Love’. That being said, Carl’s $6.50 cheesesteaks are pretty fantastic. So is the plaque commemorating Babe Ruth’s trade to the Yankees (from Boston), which calls the Yanks 'œthe best team ever'.
