Luscious Foods, Brooklyn
The truth is that I’m really super lazy. To a horrifying extent, actually, as I have realized more and more in recent weeks. If you can believe it, in the wintertime I am even lazier. I do love the idea of coming home in the evening, putting on some music, breaking out some groceries from Whole Foods or the CSA or whatever and making myself a nice, healthy meal, but The reality is I’m very often too tired, too lazy or too stoned. Very often, I’m a mix of all three!
Many evenings this combination of staunch refusal to approach my life with the responsibility befitting an adult my age has caused me to order take out, get prepped food from Whole Foods and even stand before the cabinet eating mouthfuls of saltine crackers in a desperate bid to provide my body with nourishment at minimal effort.
One day I discovered Luscious Foods, not two blocks from my apartment and it changed my entire world. To wit, from their website:
AT LUSCIOUS WE MAKE “SLOW FOOD FAST” for people who want great food and want it now (or better yet, delivered!). We cook and serve homemade comfort food all day long so you don’t have to. Entrees, sandwiches, salads, vegetarian side dishes, and sweet treats are all expertly prepared on the premises.
It’s like showing up at someone’s house and getting a home cooked meal but you don’t have to talk to anyone you don’t feel like talking to and you can leave as soon as its over, or just get them to bring it up to your house. In the summertime I basically lived off of their Greek Salad wrap and in the winter the roast chicken is better than anything my mom ever made.
