FREE Movie Screening of “A Better Life” Tonight at the Paley Center
Hailing from the greater San Diego area, I’ve come across a handful of American flag-waving vigilante a-holes who make it their life missions to patrol and “protect” the U.S. border from immigrants who are supposedly going to steal their jobs, and ruin everything. You can probably guess how I feel about these people, but politics aside, immigration is an important and controversial topic in this country. For this reason, you should attend a FREE screening of the new movie A Better Life, tonight at The Paley Center for Media.
The movie stars Demian Bichir from Weeds, who plays an immigrant day laborer and single father working tirelessly to achieve the American dream, and provide for his teenage son. Yeah, I know– it sounds like a total sob-fest. The film might make you scrunch up your face and cry into your Raisinets, but like I told you– it’s about an important issue, unlike like the mind-garbage you would be ingesting if you were sitting at home, playing XBox and stuffing your face. So check it out, and educate yourself about the plight of the illegal immigrants who risk everything for the chance to play video games and eat junk food on American soil, just like the rest of us.
More information about the screening can be found HERE. The movie is FREE, but an RSVP is required. There will be a Q&A sesh with the director, Chris Weitz, following the screening.
