The Continuing Story of Life on Earth: 25 Years of Hamburger Eye

Hamburger Eyes, the influential black‑and‑white photography magazine, marks its 25th anniversary with a new exhibition at San Francisco Public Library. Founded in 2001 by Ray Potes in collaboration with his brother, David, and their friend Stefan Simikich, Hamburger Eyes has grown from a DIY project into an established magazine featuring work from a global network of photographers. The exhibition, open through September 24, features work from more than 80 photographers, every issue of the magazine, selected books by noted photographers and ephemera.

Visit the Library's website for a full list of free programs and book recommendations related to the exhibition, and don't miss the Opening Reception on April 23 at 5 p.m. in the Jewett Gallery, Lower Level, Main Library, 100 Larkin Street.
