Under normal circumstances, I wouldn’t praise Katie Porter. While the videos of her taking billionaires to task with a white board like a middle school math teacher who just read Marx for the first time are cool, they’re not necessarily revolutionary. Everyone knows the billionaires are fucking us. No one stops them. And nothing really ever changes unless it changes in their favor.
Rhetorically Katie Porter certainly punches up, but after a video surfaced of her losing her temper on a member of her staff, it is clear Katie punches in every direction. Whether it be up at the oligarchy, sideways at her husband (who she allegedly physically abused) or down at members of her staff, the congresswoman is throwing punches. Which means she’s doing a lot more than most Democrats.
Whoever ends up being the next Governor of California is going to have to head-to-head with Donald Trump. While Gavin Newsom has adopted shitposting as a way to defend California from Trump’s constant attacks, Katie Porter is more likely, based purely on her personality, to be an actual adversary to Trump. That’s not saying you should vote for her, but it’s certainly something to consider.
Governor Newsom was born into privilege, he’s also a handsome fuckboy who doesn’t really seem to believe in anything other than increasing his chances for victory. Sometimes he’s doing good like lowering the cost of insulin, other times he’s inviting Charlie Kirk on a podcast that doesn’t need to exist so they can shit on trans athletes. He believes in nothing but himself.
Katie Porter is different. Her politics seem to be based in real beliefs, but they’re fueled by something else: wrath. She’s ambitious because she’s angry. She detests incompetence because she had to be ultra competent. Every interview I’ve ever seen her in, you get the sense that behind the veneer of her professionalism, there’s a murderous rage resting beneath the surface.
She has a fist full of mash potatoes and a heart filled with hatred, and if that hatred is pointed in the right direction, California could benefit.
Gavin Newsom doesn’t hate Trump, Newsom is like Chuck Schumer, when the cameras aren’t rolling, they get along. In an interview with CBS News, Katie Porter was asked how she would appeal to Trump voters in California. She was so offended at the idea that she abruptly ended the interview. Katie Porter may not be the Karen we want, but she’s the one we need and deserve.
The Democratic Party has three different types of Candidates to choose – corporatists like Daniel Lurie, Leftists who the Democratic Party will try and destroy before they can even directly challenge a Republican, and Katie Porter, a politician with the energy of a school bus driver who just got fired for hitting your child.
Donald Trump is a demon and we need to fight fire with fire. I would even vote for her to become President of the United States. Bernie Sanders and Zohran Mamdani have the right ideas, but they don’t have the rage.
Katie will kill ‘em all. I wonder what would happen if we let her?
