$5 Samurai Brunch – Konichiwa Bitches!
“When I was little my father was famous. He was the greatest samurai in the empire and he was the shogun’s decapitator…”
For those of you who grew up listening to Wu Tang, you’ll recognize those words as the opening lines from The Gza’s Liquid Swords album. The movie they were sampled from is Shogun’s Assassin, and if you’ve never seen it, today is your lucky day.
At noon, The Dark Room Theater is throwing a Samurai Brunch! For $5 you get entrance to watch Shogun’s Assassin (easily one of the best samurai flicks), plus tater tots and wasabi. And you’re encouraged to bring your own mimosas. Then following the flick, you and the other moviegoers will likely continue the fun by heading to Dolores Park for some more boozy time.
Technically the cover for the flick is $7, but if you say you heard about this on SF Fun Cheap (which is where I heard it from), they knock $2 off the admission. It would be awesome if someone brought a boom box to bump some Wu in the park afterwards.
