The Grouch & Eligh For FREE At Amoeba

The Bay's best newsletter for underground events & news

Maybe it’s because I’m no longer in college, but it seems to me that nobody cares about underground hip-hop anymore.  I remember having long, late night conversations over Budweiser and ganja, arguing the meanings of Aesop Rock lyrics and trying to decide if Slug’s “Lucy” was an actual person.  Those were the days where rocking a backpack and giant headphones meant you spent all your free time talking shit about rappers on the internet and making hip-hop beats with Fruity Loops.

If you look back on those years fondly, then be sure to head to Amoeba Records on Haight Street tonight where The Grouch and Eligh will be performing for FREE.  The show starts at 6 pm, but get there early because it will probably get packed.  Also, don’t forget your backpack.
