I wrote yesterday about another Friday night event , but luckily the timing works out so you can go to both.  Head to the East Bay and make a night of it!  A couple weeks ago I posted about all the ins and outs of the Berkeley Art Museum and their L@te Friday Night events.  This week’s event looks like it is going to be super interesting.  On Friday night Ellen Fullman will perform on her famous invention, the Long String Instrument, and it only costs $5 bucks because it’s after 5pm!

'œIn 1981, composer Ellen Fullman invented the Long String Instrument, an installation of dozens of wires fifty feet or more in length, played with rosined fingers. The instrument explores natural tunings based on the overtone series and the physics of vibrating strings. Fullman will perform recent compositions for solo and ensemble on wires stretched across the gallery, turning the museum itself into a resonating instrument.'
