Stoked on science!

Yesterday, Stuart tipped you off to free museum admission on the first Tuesday of the month, but we all know that sometimes it’s really hard to impress people by acting like a grown up at an art museum. Lucky for you, you can take your 8-year-old self to a couple kid-friendly destinations for FREE today, and the first Wednesday of every month. Your choices include:

Exploratorium – hands on science fun!

SF Zoo – they let you get really close to the tigers!

Aquarium of the Bay – actually has free admission to SF Residents all this week (until Thursday 1/7).

Also, given the recent passing of the man responsible for making Pez dispensers a collectors item instead of just something you throw away two days after Easter, I would be remiss if I didn’t point out that the Pez Museum in Burlingame also has free admission on the first Thursday of every month. (That’s tomorrow, 1/7.)

Bonus points if you babysit someone else’s 8-year-old and get paid to bring them to one of these places.

Andrew Dalton - Aggressive Panhandler

Andrew is an East Coast transplant from Virginia hamming it up in San Francisco without any intention of leaving. Having worked every typical job from Bike Shop Employee to Bartender to Ad Agency Hotshot, to Dotcom Layoff he now busts his ass covering the "weird things to do" beat for gracious local audiences at SFAppeal.com and rallies the Western Addy/Lower Haight/Panhandle neighborhoods into action at AggressivePanhandler.com. His work was published in a real, paper magazine one time. One day he might even figure out how to make money from it.
