Indulge Your Inner Fat Kid for FREE at BaconCamp!
For David Hasselhoff, it’s alcohol and cheeseburgers. For Amy Winehouse, it’s the pesky crack rock. For Lawrence Taylor, it’s 16-year-old girls. For me, it’s bacon. Everyone has their weaknesses, but luckily mine is not punishable by hard time in the slammer and can be innocently indulged this Saturday at San Francisco BaconCamp 2010! It’s going down at Chez Poulet, is FREE (though $5 sliding scale donations will be gladly accepted with proceeds going to the San Francisco Food Bank), and will involve copious amounts of the most delicious diet-destroyer in the world.
This thing has to be awesome. It’s mostly gonna be people presenting their bacon creations and then devouring them, but everyone who attends is encouraged to participate in some way, be it making a larger-than-life-size oil painting of a triple-layer bacon casserole (I just made that up), bringing along homemade bacon-and-walnut cookies, or simply judging the concoctions of other attendees who are less lazy than your ass. Anything goes as long as it’s related to BACON! See the full list of categories to compete in for prizes here and get cooking NOW. While you’re at it, double that recipe, because I’m definitely coming hungry.
BaconCamp 2010 at Chez Poulet Saturday, May 8, 12pm-4pm 3359 Cesar Chavez St. (at Misson) [Outer Mission] FREE, but donations accepted
