Pride 2010: Free Tickets to Miss More's Annual Fete and Free Pork Today!

The Bay's best newsletter for underground events & news

Catch her if you can!

Although insanely popular, I wouldn’t usually recommend local queen bee, Juanita More‘s Pride Party if you were looking to save a little cash during this week’s hijinx.  It’s fun and all but there’s an epic line sometimes and the Bambuddha Lounge ain’t exactly bargain basement when it comes to liquor.

However, she has teamed up with Gaycities to drum up a little press for the party’s move from the Phoenix Hotel to Kelly’s Mission Rock and some healthy competition by organizing a scavenger hunt today that you all can follow on Facebook.

Like an Easter bun in an evening gown, she will be tip-toeing through the city starting at 11 a.m. and leaving free passes to some of the more high profile parties in town as well as her very own bacchanalia this Sunday.  The locations will be local business that she will announce throughout the day.

Once your done with your hunting, you’ll most likely be famished and thirsty which will be just in time for the Guardian‘s annual Queer Pride Happy Hour: Pullin’ Pork at the Pilsner.  Free pulled pork sandwiches courtesy of Drewes Brothers and Funk n’ Chunk will be provided as well as equally savory musica spun by DJ Chillidog.

Stephen Torres - Threadbare-Fact Finder (Editor, San Francisco)

Stephen's early years were spent in a boxcar overlooking downtown Los Angeles. From there he moved around the state with his family before settling under the warm blanket of smog that covers suburban Southern California. Moving around led to his inability to stay in one place for very long, but San Francisco has been reeling him back in with its siren song since 1999.
By trade he pours booze, but likes to think he can write and does so occasionally for the SF Bay Guardian, Bold Italic and 7x7. He also likes to enjoy time spent in old eateries, bars and businesses that, by most standards, would have been condemned a long time ago.
