FREE DIY Party at Yerba Buena Center for the Arts

The Bay's best newsletter for underground events & news

I guess this is drinking and dancing. credit Mike Kepka

The folks over at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts (YBCA) got at me because they wanted you to know about this kick ass sounding party they are throwing.  They are calling it DIYbca – get it? – and billing it as “THE free late-night art party of the summer”.  Truthfully, I always thought that Burning Man held that title, but we’ll give it to YBCA anyways.

Here’s what’s going at the YBCA on Saturday August 14th:

* Participate in reality TV with The Lab’s Drinking and Dancing Competition featuring Adonisaurus

* Groove to DIY DJ collective LoveTechSF

* Make your own instruments with experimental music godfathers Kwisp

* Customize your shoes and walk the runway with Mrs. Vera’s Sole Makeover

* Stencil your heart out with master public art interventionist Jeremy Novy

* Bliss out in the Bowls Project with a performance by Jewlia Eisenberg

* Imbibe at cash bars

Yup sounds like lots of fun, but you must be 18+ to go.  And if you’re looking for something else to do that night oyu should also check out the party at The Secret Alley.
