Celebrate a Decade of Art with the Fecal Face After Party Tomorrow Night
If there’s one thing being broke in San Francisco teaches you, it’s that art parties aren’t just for hoity-toity, chardonnay-sipping museum donors. Gallery shows and openings are usually small-scale deals, but I can’t remember the last time I went to one and didn’t end up polishing off a couple free drinks. Naturally then, I like to keep an eye on the local art scene so I can manage a halfway intelligent conversation at these events and if there’s been one consistently amazing source of local art news it’s been the notorious and hilariously named FECAL FACE DOT COM, who are holding their 10 Years of Fecal Face Dot Com show at The Luggage Store Gallery starting tomorrow at 6pm and running through October.
More importantly though, is the opening night After Party at Mezzanine where a mere $8 suggested donation gets you the chance to win some artwork as well as the warm fuzzy feeling that comes from supporting the arts. (They do make it a point to mention no one will be turned away for lack of funds, but freeloaders don’t get raffle tickets.) Setting the soundtrack for drinking with San Francisco’s artistic minds will be music from Kelley Stoltz, Ty Segall and Sonny Smith of Sonny and the Sunsets.
