FREE Live Contemporary Ballet Performance at 111 Minna This Friday

The last time I saw any type of dance performance in San Francisco, it was The Nutcracker, it was almost a year ago and it was pretty expensive (which is why I generously let an out-of-town relative foot the bill).  Generally, though, there are several smaller, yet prestigious dance companies in the city that offer cheap-to-FREE performances from time to time, and Post:Ballet is one of them.

This Friday from 5pm-9pm at 111 Minna, Post:Ballet is hosting a FREE event for the 21+ crowd (sorry, babies) that includes a live contemporary ballet performance choreographed by Robert Dekkers, screenings of a locally-shot dance film and several photography exhibits.  Sounds like the perfect time to knock out a bunch of culture at once or woo someone you’ve been trying to impress with your worldliness, all while NOT spending a million dollars like some people might have accidentally done at the Treasure Island Music Festival last weekend.  Time for some major damage control that doesn’t involve staying in and making a dent in the couch while watching Thintervention with Jackie Warner.
