Free Meat Fix at SFBG’s Annual Pride Kick-off This Wednesday

The Bay's best newsletter for underground events & news

Holy Week is upon us queers! In addition to the juggernaut of over-priced parties and cover charges that will greet thee at every turn, there are the occasional events that will provide you with more than a diabolical hangover and shredded wallet.

Each year, the city’s own voice of the proletariat, the SF Bay Guardian, provides the smelly masses with a mouthful of hot meat at their annual Pullin’ Pork for Pride happy hour. Hosted in Church and Market’s backyard, the Pilsner Inn, there will be lots of extra dry treats on special to wash down all that FREE, sloppy , pulled pork provided by Funk N’ Chunk and Drewes Brothers Meats.  They’ll also be holding a few games to play with prizes provided by Good Vibrations just so the downstairs leaves as sated as your upstairs does.  Tunes provided by DJ OME.

The San Francisco Bay Guardian’s 7th Annual Pullin’ Pork For Pride Happy Hour! Wednesday, June 22, 2011 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. Pilsner Inn 225 Church Street (@ Market) [Castro/ Eureka Valley] 415.621.7058

Stephen's early years were spent in a boxcar overlooking downtown Los Angeles. From there he moved around the state with his family before settling under the warm blanket of smog that covers suburban Southern California. Moving around led to his inability to stay in one place for very long, but San Francisco has been reeling him back in with its siren song since 1999.
By trade he pours booze, but likes to think he can write and does so occasionally for the SF Bay Guardian, Bold Italic and 7x7. He also likes to enjoy time spent in old eateries, bars and businesses that, by most standards, would have been condemned a long time ago.
