Join SF SantaCon this Saturday
It seems Christmas comes earlier every year. This Saturday, December 10th, hundreds, maybe even thousand of Santas will be taking over the streets of San Francisco for the SF SantaCon. Imagine the hilly streets flooded red, as all of these Santas stumble around screaming, “Ho, ho, ho.” Many of them may be “Bad Santas” and drink beer along the way. I’m not sure if the cops are going to be very strict about alcohol this year, but somehow I think Santa is more powerful than the SF Police Department. Just threaten the cops that they won’t get any toys this year if they try to take your beer away, so remember to wear your Santa costume.
The real Santa has not yet released the starting time or location of the event. I heard it runs from 11 a.m. until 8 p.m. I also heard that there will not be routes this year, but zones where Santa will be cruising – hopefully with his whole reindeer posse. The rules of SantaCon are easy:
- You don’t need to register anywhere to attend the San Francisco SantaCon. – just show up.
- You don’t need to pay to attend the San Francisco SantaCon. – it’s FREE.
- Details (time, location etc.) will not be released until a few days before – check the link above for these and other details.
- You can follow Santa’s Twitter feed to find out Santa’s location during the day.
One thing Santa did let us know is that there will be a showdown in Washington Square Park at 3 p.m. Santa will be there and plans to get naked. Santa will be shaking his ass at the 3rd Annual SantaCon Dance Party. It will be at Monarch a venue on 6th and Market St. from 11 a.m. – 8 p.m. Dance yourself into a merry winter wonderland and get into the holiday spirit! And remember – have fun, Santa is watching!
