Food Truck Happy Hour at Public Works Tonight!
Tonight, Thursday, September 6, from 7-11 p.m., you should stop on by Public Works for a food-truck fête. There will be awesome music courtesy of headliners the Frail and Soft White Sixties, plus DJs Richie Panic and Carnita. From 7-9 p.m., grab some FREE Sapporo Premium beer, plus FREE grub from the Mayo & Mustard truck. You can even do good while you get down, with a raffle benefiting Root Division, the creative folks whose nonprofit offers artist spaces, classes, and events to promote community arts.
One of San Francisco’s most talked about bands, The Soft White Sixties, have been hailed by some press as legitimate heirs to the Maximum R&B moniker placed on The Who some 40-plus years ago, and while that’s not un-true, The Soft White Sixties offer so much more. Like a perfect collision between the sweetly subversive melodies of T-Rex and the hard-edged pop sensibilities of The Strokes, The ‘Sixties brand of rock ‘n roll blends heavy, soulful grooves with a driving beat.
The other headliner is rad too! Over the past four years, velvet-throated vocalist Daniel Lannon and hyper-prolific producer Kevin Durr have pushed the group from a Craigslist collaboration to a stage-shattering electro-pop act worthy of national acclaim. Pop-indie hybrids, the group’s electro-tinged cuts now toe the line between falsetto homage to Michael Jackson and the hyper-literate electro experimentation of DFA acts like LCD Soundsystem.
Sounds like tonight is gonna be a lot of fun. What could be better than FREE grooves and grub. Click attending and RSVP here for FREE Food & Admission: http://
