Happy Christmas Eve, all! While a large percentage of the country is scurrying around to finish their Christmas shopping, Santa delivered a miracle this year and gave me the motivation to finish early.  I suppose there’s a first time for everything. Now that I have some time on my hands, I racked my brain for something different to bring to Christmas dinner.

If you’re strapped for cash or need to contribute something to your family feast, I’ve gathered a few ideas for any Christmas Day celebration. They’re perfect for adults, children, or big kids like us.

Snowman Ice Cream

You’ll need:

  • 4 marshmallows
  • Liquid red food coloring
  • 4 vanilla ice cream
  • 12 raisins, semisweet chocolate pieces or dried cranberries
  • 2 red maraschino cherries, halved
  • 4 red licorice twists, halved, or 8 tiny candy canes or cookie sticks

Peppermint Bark

  • 8oz brown chocolate (your favorite)
  • 8oz white chocolate
  • 2 tsp vegetable oil, divided
  • 1/2 tsp peppermint extract, divided
  • candy canes or peppermint candies, crushed

Brownie Trees

  • Brownies
  • Green Frosting
  • Candy Canes
  • Cinnamon Candies
  • Sprinkles

Ornament Cake Balls

You’ll need:

  • Cake Balls
  • Christmas Sprinkles
  • MINI Reese’s
  • Twizzlers

Candy Cane Punch

  • 2 jars (10 ounces each) strawberry jelly
  • 2 liters lemon-lime soda, divided
  • 2 quarts peppermint stick ice cream
  • Miniature candy canes, optional

As you can see, there’s more to the Christmas season than just ugly sweaters, mall crowds, presents and holiday meat preparation. Feel free to spike or add your own pizzazz to any of these for extra holiday cheer.
