The Bay's best newsletter for underground events & news

I can’t think of a better reason to drink beer! This event sounds amazing. I know it’s a bit pricier than the stuff I normally post about, but if you use the code “brokeassstuart” you get $5 off! Or you can just click here for the discount. So please support the SF Tenants Union. These are the people trying to keep your ass in San Francisco. Here’s the info they sent me:

Hops For Housing – Homebrew Showcase

– Event to support the SF Tenants Union who provide free tenant counselling services to struggling renters. Help support renter rights in a positive way by attending.

– Sample over 30 unique beers by local home & commercial brewers to live music. The large majority of these homebrewed beers have never been tried by the public.

Many of San Francisco’s Homebrewers are also renters in this great city. They are inspired by their neighborhoods and deeply connected to the community that they live and brew in. Threat of eviction and rising cost of rental units has lead to the city’s top homebrewers teaming up with The San Francisco Tenants Union Feb. 13 for a first-of-its-kind fundraiser during SF Beer Week. The Hops for Housing event will showcase local small batch homebrews, bands and fare from food trucks. All proceeds will go to the SFTU to advocate for and provide counseling services to San Francisco’s struggling renters.
