Join the Democratic Socialists for the Red Ball in San Francisco

The Bay's best newsletter for underground events & news

From our friends at the Democratic Socialists of America:

This weekend skip the venture-backed LED-glowy burner parties and throw down with would-be revolutionaries instead. San Francisco’s several socialist groups have come together to throw a celebration of the 100-year anniversary of the Russian Revolution at the Mission’s Verdi Club. These socialite socialists want to celebrate the revolutionary spirit throughout the ages as well as the recent explosive growth of the socialist movement in San Francisco and across the country. In addition to live music and a radical costume contest, local lefty groups will be on-hand to offer education and information on how to get involved with the Bay Area’s burgeoning socialist scene.

Proceeds from the party will be donated to organizations aiding Puerto Rico. Party-goers are encouraged to wear red or dress in revolutionary garb. Leave your ushanka at home, though. Think more revolutionary heroes of any age and less cultural appropriation.

Any revolutionary hero costume contest!
