With Elizabethan clothes, Broadway Pros, and music from Go-Go’s, HEAD OVER HEELS looks like a lot of fun.  Like, “I’m fired up, going out dancing, and meeting someone,” fun.  It’s a punk/posh musical comedy with 80’s and Elizabethan fashion, set the music of the GO-GO’s!  And did we mention it’s created by the award-winning visionaries that rocked Broadway with HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH, NEXT TO NORMAL, AMERICAN IDIOT, SPRING AWAKENING and AVENUE Q?!  Find your tickets here.

The Curran is known for having Broadway shows BEFORE they become Broadway shows, and Head Over Heels looks like it’s moving in that direction. Director Michael Mayer described the show as a delicious cocktail, “the base alcohol is an Elizabethan romantic comedy, full of mistaken identity, sex, talking animals, and love. You want to add one shot of each of the following: power, gender, identity. … Every classic cocktail needs bitters, so there’s a little dash of the threat of global annihilation. You throw it in the blender and add the most intoxicating, fabulous, effervescent mixer known to humankind: the song catalog of The Go-Go’s.”

“If you told us 30 years ago that our songs were going to be in a musical, we’d have said ‘Of course they’ll be on Broadway!’ None of us would have really believed it though — what a crazy idea! Yet here we are, with HEAD OVER HEELS – a celebration of love in all its forms, joyful, fun and full of heart, driven by the songs that for decades have been making people jump from their seats and dance.”
