Check Out San Francisco Made of Paper Tonight at The Curiosity Shoppe!
It’s no secret that we residents of San Francisco loooooooove our city. If we didn’t, we wouldn’t live paycheck-to-paycheck, in, like, the fifth most expensive place in the country. Yeah, it’s foggy sometimes and flipping over the handlebars of your bike when the wheels get stuck in the MUNI tracks is inevitable, but hey, we have THE GIANTS! TAQUERIAS! THE SEWARD STREET SLIDES! And amazing, amazing art.
Maybe you’ve seen the work of graphic designer/animator/all-around-super-talented artist Chloe Fleury; maybe you haven’t. (Michel Gondry definitely has; this awesome stop-motion animation co-created by Chloe won 1st prize in a contest judged by the whimsical genius himself and is included on the Be Kind Rewind bonus disc!) Either way, you’ll want stop by The Curiosity Shoppe tonight, when Chloe’s exhibit, “San Francisco Made of Paper,” opens. Really cool three-dimensional poster/installations of SF neighborhoods, like the Haight-Ashbury one posted above, will be featured; think of how exciting it’ll be when you spot yours and immediately identify the inside jokes of the hood. Oh, and thank God there will also be FREE snacks to coat your insides so they don’t explode from the cutesy-ness of it all. And I mean that in a very good way.
Opening of Chloe Fleury’s “San Francisco Made of Paper” at The Curiosity Shoppe Friday, February 18, 6pm – 9pm 855 Valencia St. (btwn 20th & Cunningham) [Mission]
