The Blarney Stone: Wait, Which One?

The Bay's best newsletter for underground events & news

Our own Bobby Rich recently wrote on the seemingly awesome Chelsea-based Blarney Stone.  There appears to be one of these joints in nearly every town of decent size, and for good reason.

The San Francisco-based Blarney Stone is a fine Irish pub.  The spacious interior and plentiful seating make it relatively simple to grab a seat most of the time.  If you take a look around you will more often than not find several screens, including a massive projector screen, playing various sporting events.  If you are not a sports fan there is plenty to keep you occupied.  Check out the jukebox, pool, darts, FREE air hockey and shuffleboard.  (No, pool and darts are not sports.  Think of NASCAR; it may be considered a sport, but in reality it is simply masquerading around as such.)  Moving on, there is a great open air patio out back.  It can become a bit crowded during weekends, but for the most part it’s fairly open.

DRINK SPECIALS!  Happy hour, which includes three dollar wells and a buck off all drafts, is Monday through Friday from 2:00p.m. – 7:00p.m.  What’s more is that High Life is only two bucks!

With great bartenders and a mellow atmosphere The Blarney Stone is where you should grab your next drink.

He is continually searching for great dive bars.
