SF Gay Men’s Chorus Enrages Right Wing With Brillaint ‘We’ll Convert Your Children’ Video
Many of the leading wingnut Trumper “news” websites currently have their MAGA hats in a bunch over an extremely funny satirical video from the San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus that was posted July 1. The COVID-19 misinformation shitposting hotbed Post Millennial declared that “San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus pushes woke agenda” and “the video has now been made unavailable on YouTube.” On her own blog, former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush’s “Faith and Community-based Initiatives” wrote on that “The choir posted on its YouTube channel a song on that theme, but quickly took it down.”
The San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus’ “A Message From the Gay Community” is hilarrrrious, but after a slog of threats, has been made private on Youtube. But you can see this delightful satirical video in its entirety from a different streaming service below..
Here’s a sampling of the lyrics:
WE’LL CONVERT YOUR CHILDREN,
HAPPENS BIT BY BIT,
QUIETLY AND SUBTLELY
AND YOU WILL BARELY NOTICE IT,
YOU CAN KEEP THEM FROM DISCO,
WARN ABOUT SAN FRANCISCO.
MAKE ‘EM WEAR PLEATED PANTS,
WE DON’T CARE…
WE’LL CONVERT YOUR CHILDREN…
WE’LL MAKE THEM TOLERANT AND FAIR.
They have of course faced a ton of criticism over the video and have published the following response:
“The negative, even threatening responses, prove that this music and our mission are critically necessary in today’s world. Many children are not being taught the truth. Our message to you from the gay community: we will continue do our best to counter the message of hate by teaching young people to be tolerant and fair.
It is obvious the tongue-in-cheek humor is lost on many – especially the ones spewing death threats. Please take a moment and read the entire text. “We’ll make an ally of you yet.” We are proud of who we are. We are proud of what we sing.”

There is nothing “satirical” about pedophilia.
You demonstrated that you didn’t listen to the song and you therefore don’t know what you’re writing about. The lyrics do not encourage pedophilia.
The song is the first thrown threat. They shouldn’t be surprised or angered that they received threats back.
Do into others. .,
No clue why this needs explaining: The song is NOT saying we will convert your children into gay people, it is saying we will convert your children into KIND people. The whole point is that the only “gay agenda” is to teach the next generation that it’s OK to be who you are, gay or straight, and to accept others, whoever or however they may be. There is no pedophilia or straight-to-gay conversion being expressed here–it is about converting hate into love, that is all. Looking forward to a time/world where this doesn’t even need to be a conversation.
Tell that to the thousands of lbgtq tik tok folks bragging about conversion therapy, soecially formatted lesson plans to intentionally coerce cgildren into questioning their sexuality, the teachers going on and on about how the found ways to promote lgbtq in spite of resistence, being taught how to hide it from parents, etc…the outrage, regardless of intentions, is justified and their are thousands of examples to pull from that support the outrage. I agree, and personally, i don’t care if someone is gay, i think people are all people and should be afforded the same respect. That being said, your voice, while certainly reasonable and kind, is a huge minority among your own group.
On a side note, many conservative satire organizations have been silenced and shut down for far less. To insult anyone who disagrees with this agenda, then claim it was a joke, while intentionally silencing any opposing satire is beyond pathetic and whoever wrote this article is a piece of trash human being and doesn’t deserve the acceptance they are demanding. There is nothing kind about this article nor the satire you claim it to be.
This is not brilliant. This is feeding into conservative rhetoric for them to justify their views of LGBT persons.
This gay chorus has a convicted pedophile in it you fucking disgusting piece of shit.
Adults who feel threatened or offended about this song’s message simply don’t have a finger, much less a grip on certain healthy realities. I guess they consumed a lot of Veggie Tales (learning virtues) but not enough Mr. Roger’s Neighborhood (learning self-worth).
