Mmmmm Winter in the Bay… A foggy, drizzly, chilly-but-not-freezing, perfect-for a-chunky-sweater kind of vibe. I don’t know about you, but I’ve been in hibernation mode for a MINUTE. But luckily, the days are getting longer and just a little warmer, and there’s plenty to do to break yourself out of a post-NYE slump. Here’s what we’re most excited about for the week of 1/25/22…

Our Sponsor’s Events

jerrod carmichael, alone, work in progress

January 26-29 | Punch Line San Francisco, 44 Battery Street | $22-32

Jerrod Carmichael is an LA based standup comedian and performer originally from Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Check him out tonight with your pals – you need a weeknight giggle more than you think you do! Click here for tickets and individual show info!

Turbo Drive: Protector 101 + Street Cleaner

Friday, 1/28 | 9:00 pm | DNA Lounge, 375 11th Street | $15-20

These last two years have been hell, so start your 2022 with a glimmer of hope! Turbo Drive is bringing you a massive show for their first event of the year with 3 big names in the Synthwave scene, 2 rooms of music, 3 live acts, and 5 DJs. This Week’s Events

Tuesday, 1/25

Resonance in Light

Today through 2/25 | By Appointment Only | Heron Arts, 7 Heron Street | Donation based

Join Heron Arts for an experience in meditative immersion! Sonically anchored by Aaron Taylor Kuffner’s Gamelatron Roh Ageng (a sound-producing kinetic sculpture presented as site-specific installations and stand-alone artworks), four Bay Area artists join Kuffner in the creation of an interactive environment where the aural tones of this Gamelatron influence various light-based sculptures. The result is an immersive exploration of light and sound that you won’t want to miss!

Circa Survive

7:30pm | The Regency Ballroom, 1290 Sutter Street | $25-30

The word “progressive” is often used to describe Circa Survive’s sound, and while this term doesn’t really do justice to the band’s distinct identity, it does conjure the scope and ambition of those iconic bands from decades ago, the ones that managed to capture the attention of mainstream audiences without sacrificing their esoteric tendencies. See them tonight at the Regency, with support from Tigers Jaw and Soul Glo!
