Vivvyanne ForeverMORE, Embracing Authenticity & Glittering Glamour

The Bay's best newsletter for underground events & news

Vivvyanne ForeverMORE, also known as Vivvy, is an inspiring drag performer who embodies the essence of authenticity, glittering glamour and bold self-expression. Her radiant personality brightens the lives of those around them, and they serve as a shining example for individuals who want to embrace their true selves and dance in the glittering world of drag.

Vivvyanne ForeverMORE is the drag persona of Cornelius. In this interview, we learn about their journey, from a queer kid in NYC’s suburbs to becoming Vivvy through their passion for nightlife, beauty, and makeup. They emphasize the importance of leaving it all on the stage, giving their all and not holding back, inspiring others to embrace their uniqueness.

VivvyAnne ForeverMORE

We kick off this interview getting to know them and how Vivvy came to be. “I was a weird queer kid living in the suburbs of NYC. When I was 15 I snuck into Manhattan with some friends. I went to Patricia Feild’s boutique on 8th street and bought my first ever eyeshadow from Amanda Lapore. That was it. Since then I have been obsessed with nightlife, beauty, glamour and make up. I met Juantia MORE! And Glamamore in 2005 or 2006, also met Julie Phelps at CounterPulse around the same time That’s when Vivvy got borned. Then Club SOME THING for many years, meanwhile nurturing my contemporary dance/choreography here and abroad, and look at me now!,” they told me.

Leaving it all on the stage:

Cornelius’ perspective on leaving it all on the stage is inspiring and encourages individuals to be unapologetically themselves. They wrote a bit about what it means to leave it all on the stage for their Patreon subscribers a while back. What I love about their perspective is that it inspires us all to just go for it. Be your unique self at all times.

“This means that on the stage you give it all, you give all of yourself, everything you can muster, all your joy, your pain, all your fear and desire, all your care and concern, all your energy. You don’t hold back. You give of yourself fully. Which is my favorite type of performance. It’s not sustainable to do every night, or rather, many nights in a row, but you can do it big ways and small ways. This idea speaks to me because I think on stage we should do anything and everything that we have to do to make and inhabit the performance,” they told us.

Authenticity is the most important thing we can all process. We help others feel more free to be themselves when they see that we are being our own selves. So, when thinking about how we show up as our authentic selves, I asked Cornelius what would they pack on a trip if they could only pack one thing for themselves and Vivvy.

As a day walking theydy Id pack my nike x ambush moto pants, a vintage burnout white t-shirt and all black docs. As a creature of the night I’d take my custom one piece holographic sequin nude illusion slingshot with matching leigh bowery reference balaclava (by Amie Sarazan)and cardboard crown, and matching heels (By Lewd Looks),” they said to me.

About Thriving in Community

I asked Cornelius what would a person do if they wanted to get into drag and they had an answer that I think crosses many genres… “I’d tell them we can start talking after they approached me at three different events! For me Drag lives and thrives in community.”

And it’s true for most things. If you’re interested in something, dive into the community and meet others already doing something you’re interested in. Vivvy is the daughter of Glamamore. Because drag is such a tight knit community, I thought it would be interesting to see what they had to say about Glamamore. Their answer gave me additional insight into what makes for a great mentor in the community. Authenticity and care for others are the themes across this entire interview.
“Glamamore really shines a light on those around her, she believes in the potential of folks to achieve great things, and to be great people. She’s very open. You know she’s a legendary performer and desire and she is still very kind and authentic

Juanita MORE taught me that something being gorgeous is a good enough reason for it existing- it can simply just be beautiful. She also really taught me how to work a room.

Fauxnique is a mentor and collaborator. She’s modeled how to be a multi-genre artist, and how to really live the drag that is best for yourself, not for what people want you to be.

This list will be endless. So I’ll stop there for now,” they answered.

What events do you have on the horizon?

As I almost always do, I wanted to end the interview asking about what Cornelius and Vivvy had on the horizon. The Stud is opening up and, knowing they are part of that community, I wasn’t surprised to see that they will be behind the bar soon and have some hosting events already on the calendar.

“When the Stud opens you’ll see me behind the bar and hosting Drag Alive, with best ghoulfriend Jillian Gnarling.

Also planning new monthly event for the new stud so stay tuned

While other kids were attending summer camp & soccer practice, she was raised selling wares at craft shows with her working artist parents and spent vacations in a small 1920s Montana log cabin. This has all given her a unique perspective on the ever-changing texture of San Francisco and the Greater Bay Area. Currently a blend of all that is The Bay Area - she's a web designer at a tech-company, artist and DIY teacher.
