Bonnie Ora Sherk: Life Frames since 1970
Now-March 10 | Fort Mason Center for Arts & Culture | 2 Marina Blvd, Gallery 308, Landmark Building A, SF  | 12 p.m. | Free

Bonnie Ora Sherk is a bit of an eco-art legend in the Bay Area, and was decades ahead of her time. Sherk’s pioneering projects in 1970s San Francisco, including Portable Parks I-III and Crossroads Community (the farm), conceptualized new uses for overlooked urban landscapes, and laid the foundation for a global movement to reclaim urban spaces.  The exhibit features large-form video projections of her incredible performance art (eating with tigers at the SF Zoo) and gorgeous stills of 1970s San Francisco.

Guilty Pleasure

Reality TV is a guilty pleasure for me. It’s easy to have on in the background while working from home or getting chores done around the house. I watch the entire Below Deck franchise. Vanderpump Rules comes back tonight… and we’re two episodes in on this new season of The Bachelor (I’m so glad it’s Joey). The weather this week is going to tempt me to curl up and binge, but there’s too many events going on to hibernate! Here’s what I’m most excited about for the week of 1/30…

SF Sketchfest: The Red Room Orchestra play the “Harold & Maude” Soundtrack

The Red Room Orchestra returns to play the classic soundtrack from Hal Ashby’s beloved 1971 comedy “Harold and Maude.” An evening of Cat Stevens tunes plus instrumental music from the film, with guests including Margaret Cho, Petra Haden, and Janet Varney.

Manifest Differently Opening Gala
