A Broke-Ass Guide To NYC Live Music This Week

The Bay's best newsletter for underground events & news

It’s 2018 in a dystopian future. Trump is president. Immigrants are being detained in mass. Sex abusers are being outed. Flint still doesn’t have clean water & The Mighty Mighty Bosstone’s have finally had to knock on wood.

The good news? Artists and musicians are putting out some of their best work ever. Here are some DIY shows from new wave to hardcore, for under $20. There’s nothing better than a live band to drown out all those news alerts. It’s ok. Give yourself 90 mins. The world will still be on fire after the encore.

The Grasping Straws have been charming the NYC DIY scene since 2012, bringing us self described “psychedelic art rock with an injection of grunge and a hint of jazz”.
