Go Italian With Happy Hour at Zuppa
I don’t normally go out for Italian food because I kind of have a thing about spending money on dishes it’s safe to say I could make at home for a third of the price, like pizza or spaghetti and meatballs. On the other hand, as half of the blood coursing through my veins is of the Italian variety, I absolutely LOVE the food. This is why happy hours, like the one at Zuppa, are crucial — they mean I get my Italian restaurant food fix on the cheap!
Zuppa’s happy hour runs from 5pm – 7pm, Monday through Friday, and has some of the cheapest local oysters around at $.75 a pop. There are a couple stipulations to this deal: 12 oysters max per person (easy to get around) and a one-drink minimum (but if you’re not drinking at happy hour, it’s not really going to be happy, is it?). The food specials are the highlights and range from half-price pizzas to $3 flatbread to $6 grilled octopus salad. The drinks aren’t bad at $4 for drafts and $5 for wine and cocktails. I hear the greyhound here is amazing, although I hate grapefruit juice and would rather kill myself than drink anything made with it.
Anyway, check out the full HH menu here, and if you can, come early — it gets crowded!
