FREE: Temescal Street Fair
Temescal: It’s that slice of Oakland that’s just north of MacArthur BART and south of Berkeley city limits. Still don’t get the picture? It’s the neighborhood that’s home to both Bakesale Betty and Lanesplitter’s. Ah, now you see.
Come out tomorrow and celebrate what I’m proud to call my ‘hood for FREE at the Temescal Street Fair. There will be local music acts, crafty stuff, and community booths (I bet Oaklandish will be there). And if you cruise in on your bike, you know parking is bound to be a hot mess. No worries — the East Bay Bike Coalition will provide valet parking, so you know your ride’s secure.
If you haven’t been to Temescal lately, it’s been poppin’ off with a whole bunch of new restaurants, like Barlata and Pizzaiolo. After you finish up at the fair, I highly suggest you check out Jaguar, a private room karaoke joint that seems to be run by Korean teenagers. So awesome.
